Garrett Doyle grew up on the Eastern Shore, between the Wicomico River and the Ocean City beaches, in a family where you fixed what broke and showed up when you said you would. Before he ever owned a truck, he worked the docks and warehouses around the Salisbury rail and poultry yards — long days loading freight, learning how weight moves, and watching how often a hired crew left a customer waiting or guessing. By his late twenties he was convinced the Shore deserved a mover that ran differently. In 2015 he bought a single box truck, hired two guys he trusted, and started Always Moving.
Why “Always” Is on the Truck
The name is a promise Garrett makes to every customer, and it has three parts. Always on time, because beach traffic on US-50 and a soft farm lane are not excuses — they are reasons to plan ahead and stage the day right. Always your own crew, because the people who quote your move are the people who carry it; we never sell your job to someone else. And always a flat written price, set before we lift a thing, so the total on moving day matches the total you agreed to. Ten years in, those three lines still run the company.
Today Always Moving fields six trucks and eleven full-time uniformed movers, all on our own payroll. We are not a broker, a matching service, or a name that farms work out to whoever is cheapest that week. When you book us, you get our trucks and our people — the same faces our repeat customers in Berlin, Cambridge, and Princess Anne have come to expect.
Licensed, Insured, and Built to Last
We keep our US DOT and MC authority current for the interstate runs, and we hold Maryland intrastate operating authority for moves that stay inside the state, registered under our USDOT number and fully bonded and insured. That paperwork lets us legally cross the Delmarva line into Delaware and Virginia, which matters when half the Shore has family on both sides of a state border. Every shipment carries released-value protection at sixty cents a pound, with full-value coverage available, and we carry up to a million dollars of cargo coverage per move.
Garrett still rides along on the big jobs and answers his phone. That is the kind of company Always Moving was meant to be, and it is the kind it has stayed.
